Casting Out A Devil is the third single from Brazilian rocker Luan Bates' sophomore album, Nothing Left To Say, out on 18/09/20.

It is a story about the contradictions of religiosity based on Luan's personal experiences, with an intense blues-rock soundtrack. It features Toni Gregório on guitar and Leo Fazio on clarinet, accompanied by a lyric video produced by Casa dos Ventos. Self-recorded and mixed at home, the album brings heavier sounds and intimate lyrics from the prolific songwriter.

Your reason is misery and your truth is pain
Your hasty speeches have nothing to say
I don't know why I still think about it
If all this Christian bullshit is used in vain

Who's this man to tell me how should I live?
An orthodox box of memories
Too many deals with no guarantees
All those bars with shallow souls
And advices with cruel greedy goals
I wonder why death always comes too slow

That fucking madman told me to fly high
When I'm always trying to stay on the ground
Who are you, man? Have a look around
And check how much it costs to be a dreamer
And what it takes to be a true believer
Why the hell should I keep so sane?

Don't try to mess up with my mind
This home of chaos and broken romances
I Just want to make my own way
Cause I cast out a devil everyday
And that's the hardest thing a man can do
When your mind is a prisoner in hell

So please try to keep your mouth shut
And understand that this is not what you shape
